Counter-Strike or CS ; (def) - a multi-player game, in fact the most played such on the planet.

Counter-Strike, commonly abbreviated to CS, is a team-based, tactical first-person shooter game which originated with a total conversion mod created by Minh "gooseman" Le and Jess Cliffe, out of Valve Software's first-person shooter, Half-Life. Counter-Strike was originally played online through the WON gaming service which was shut down in 2004 forcing players to switch to Steam Counter-Strike Source 's delivery and distribution system. A large subsection of players responded by creating their own network dubbed WON2. The game has been stretched into an extremely viable series since its original release, which currently includes Counter-Strike: Condition Zero and Counter-Strike: Source and many "mods" of the original game.

If you are serious about CS then you should realise that EVERY time you shoot (including stabbing with your knife) it adds to your stats - so don't just run around spraying bullets everywhere and slashing as you run because that will lower your hit rate dramatically ! Lots of gamers, even long time players, do not realise this important point.
